Antique Statehood Flags
Cisco’s collection of antique American flags represent an important period in American history. The first states joined together on June 14, 1777. Each time a state was admitted to the United States, a star would be added onto the flag. However, each incoming state desired a parade flag with the correct number of stars for their Independence Day celebration. These were printed in limited editions on inexpensive fabrics. Due to the pace at which states were being admitted, these surviving flags are quite rare. Many collectors are drawn to the historical significance of old flags and collect them as a way to preserve a piece of American history. Others collect them as a form of patriotic art or decoration.
