Native American Birch Bark Items

Cisco’s Gallery offers a collection of antique Native American birch bark items, including baskets, containers, boxes, moose calls and other traditional forms. Lightweight and workable, birch bark was used extensively by Indigenous peoples of the northern Woodlands and Subarctic to create practical objects for storage, gathering and everyday use. Historic examples may feature sewn or folded construction, porcupine quillwork and other decorative techniques associated with specific regional traditions.
