Ace Powell
Ace Powell (1900-1982) was a Western artist known for his vivid and detailed paintings of cowboy life. Born in Montana, Powell grew up on a ranch and developed a deep love for the Western way of life at a young age. He began his career as a teenager, working as a cowboy and painting in his spare time. In the 1920’s, Powell moved to San Francisco and studied art at the California School of Fine Arts. He was heavily influenced by the works of Frederic Remington and Charles Russel, and his own paintings often featured scenes of cowboys and Indians in the American Wes. Powell’s work was popular during the height of the Western art movement, and he was known for his ability to capture the essence of the Western lifestyle in his paintings. He continued to paint and exhibit his work until his death in 1982. Today, Powell’s work is highly sought after by collectors of Western art.
