Swiss Black Forest Carvings

Cisco’s Gallery offers antique Swiss woodcarvings commonly known in the antiques trade as “Black Forest” carvings. Much of the Swiss tradition associated with this collecting category developed around Brienz and the Bernese Oberland during the 19th century, where workshops produced finely carved animals, figures, furniture and decorative objects for an international market. Cisco’s collection includes bears and other animal carvings, figures and distinctive decorative works.
