Native American Snowshoes
Snowshoes were a necessity for winter travel. If there was one common cultural characteristic of all Native American tribes that experienced snow, it would be the snowshoe. Like most things born out of necessity, the first snowshoes were utilitarian items that became more intricate and even decorative as time went on. Cisco’s collection of vintage Native American snowshoes features the various styles and sizes produced by Algonquin, Cree, Ojibwa, and Penobscot tribes.
