Springfield Model 1884 breech loading, single-shot trapdoor rifle chambered in .45-70 government metallic cartridge. Features Buffington rear sight, serrated trigger and 32 5/8ths inch standard barrel. Period correct markings on lock plate and barrel. Cartouche on the stock is visible but hard to make out. Metal tools including barrel has developed a golden-brown patina. 20% original finish. Walnut stock has darkened and contains period bumps and nicks. Original period sling. Missing its bayonet. Serial # 367648. Mfg. 1884.
