Sioux beaded long awl case. a unique fully beaded awl case with long beaded fringes and flap dating to circa 1880 from the Sioux Native American Indians. The case is constructed from Indian tanned Buffalo hide which is covered completely in period correct 19th Century glass trade seed beads. The banded linear and geometric pattern shows a sky padre blue background with bands of Cheyenne pink and cobalt. The beadwork and bag is sinew sewn. The piece has a long top flap which holds two fully beaded thick fringes and two long thick fully beaded thick fringes on the base of the bag itself.
