Bronze by Peter Darro (1917 - 1997). Limited edition casting by Cisco's, 3/50. Peter's studio was in Chicago and, unlike many, he was a painter since boyhood, later being recognized as a designated official American Field Hall of Fame artist, and a member of the Eminent Society of Animal Artists. As a portrait painter, his ability to transmit the essential character of a subject won him national fame. He painted Senator Everett and Mrs. Dirksen for the Dirksen Memorial Library, and Rachel Carson (author of "Silent Spring") for National Wildlife Hall of Fame. In murals, a major achievement is his 120 ft mural at the Grandview State Bank in Illinois. We aquired the balance of the paintings hanging in Peter's studio. We went over his client list, which was "impressive" to say the least, with all paintings selling direct, not through a gallery.
