Prehistoric Hopi Jeddito Black-on-Yellow (sometimes Black-on-White), ca. 1300 to 1500 CE. A beautiful pottery dipper hand-painted with fascinating decoration of sure black strokes against a creamy yellow background possibly depicting a roadrunner and the wind. Comprised of a hemispherical bowl and an extending handle, the ancient vessel features abstract linear, spiral, lattice, and geometric motifs on its interior, all encompassed by a thick black band sitting just below the rim. A single lattice-filled triangle adorns the handle. A lovely example displaying traditional symbols used throughout Ancestral Puebloan pottery! This item is guaranteed to be of the time period and condition as described, has been exported legally and is legal to buy and sell under all international laws relating to cultural patrimony.
