Patriotic themed H.C. Evans gambling wheel. H.C. Evans Co. Chicago. H. C. Evans & Company of Chicago was once a leading manufacturer of casino equipment and supplies - both honest and crooked - in the United States. It was established in 1892 and collapsed in 1955. This example, unmarked, which makes it an early version, carries all the same characteristics of the Evans horse race, dice, and big 6 wheels dating from the 30's to the 50's. Many firehouses and fraternal organizations had one of these for fund raising casino night, but this particular example, with a patriotic theme, is the only one we have seen from the over 100 we have sold in 20 years. Like All Evan's 5' wheels, it is divided into 12 distinct sections, each with a range of numbers that could be bet like a roulette wheel. Each section has a wonderful reverse painted eagle and flag, with chipped blue-glass and mirrors everywhere, topped of with a cast eagle finial on top. All original and not restored. Paint, plating, and reverse glass is all original showing. With original stand.
