19th century pair of boys cap and ball rifles, similar but not matched. One rifle features the carved initials "L.R." Overall length 37" - 38". Just the right size for over a doorway or window. Had to have been commissioned by a wealthy gentleman for his two sons. Came from Montana. The first rifle is marked with "G. Goulcher,"on the lock. The other featuring the carved L.R. has "STS" engraved on the barrel along with a hard to read engraving on the lock. Visible characters read “____WELL WARRANTED”.
