This is an exceptional 19th Century fully beaded and painted puberty ball from the Nez Perce Native American Indians. The ball consist of alternating vertical bands in multiple colors interspersed by every third one having rectangles. The beadwork is sinew sewn. Puberty balls were typically highly beaded and used for a girl's puberty right. The ball shows little to no bead loss and is in exceptional condition.
