Newton & Co. Surveyor's Cane. Dated 1915 - A large bulbous silver metal handle which could double as a bludgeon, twist and open handle to find a Newton & Co. London prismatic surveying compass, Newton & Co. was a well known maker of scientific and optical instruments in London from the mid 1800's through the early 1900's, signed with maker's name and "no 969", features rotating compass dial, prismatic sighting lense, brass leveling knobs, and needle brake lever, ebonized hardwood shaft, and no ferrule.
