1775 American Revolutionary War Era Naval cannon iron bar shot. An exceptional high quality never used authentic example of Revolutionary War era Naval Bar Shot. It measures 12" long x 3.25"width at the ends, made of two ball- hemispheres joins by a solid round bar. Their effect was similar to chain shot. When fired this weapon makes a spinning rotation, shot being used at short range to cut through the sails, shrouds, and any other rigging of an enemy target ship or to kill any seaman in its path. This example has a great rich overall natural patina.
