Navajo White Buffalo turquoise and sterling pendant by Navajo Silversmith Avin Joe. Natural, untreated stone set in sterling silver and surrounded by a classic twisted rope border. Stamped sterling and maker marked.
Avin Joe was born on the Navajo Reservation, where he spent most of his life. His great uncle Kenneth Begay, taught Avin's father Phillip Joe to silversmith. Avin learned the basics through observation. During the next several years, Avin worked with various metals exclusively in silver, perfecting his skills, to become a master silversmith, building top quality pieces featured in the finest galleries, museums and collections around the world.
