Navajo Late Classic child’s blanket, handspun, with red dyed and raveled commercial flannel yarns. Has serrated diamond design with olive, cream and blue highlights, rabbit sage, and indigo blue. In as found condition, with provenance. Collected by Henry Robbins (1866-1941), born in American Fork, UT, the eldest of six children. His mother was the third wife of James Robbins, a Mormon. Mr. Robbins traveled to all parts of the Northwestern states and Canada with a ranch business. In the 1890s he was paid a debt with six Navajo rugs and blankets, including this child’s blanket. 32” x 49”
