This Tlingit model pole features a bird-like figure (perhaps a hummingbird, crane, or mosquito) over a bear, holding what appears to be an insect. Underneath is another bear holding a stylized fish. This anonymous maker sold his work in Juneau and on Douglas Island in the early 20th century. This slender, tall model pole is an excellent example of turn-of-the-20th century Tlingit carving by a rarely offered artist. 25"H
