Pair of Lakota Sioux beaded moccasins. Circa 1890. Buffalo hoof style, highly decorated, thread sewn and beaded hide with green, white, red and brown beads. Cotton liner at top, parfleche soles. Collector's notes indicate that Walter Whiteman purchased these moccasins on a trip out west in 1930 from a Native American who indicates they belonged to his father who was killed by soldiers around 1900.
