J. H. Whitney (1892-!982) sawn decoy. Falmouth, Maine. A very impressive piece never before seen by the public. A show piece to make a statement, plus the carver was very skilful in the shape of the figure-wonerful neck. Oversized 34"L x 24"H. It was said that James Whitney had an ample supply of lumber at hand because all the decoys he made were large or extra large.
