Original drawing by Herman Herzog (1832-1932). Original pencil and colored pencil drawing portraying a cabin. Well framed and matted, signed on matting by the artist. Missing letter of authenticity. Herman Herzog is a well documented landscape painter. Born in Germany, Herman received artistic training at the Dusseldorf Academy. He earned artistic notoriety all across Europe, most notably including the Emperor Alexander of Russia and Queen Victoria. He immigrated to the United States in 1869 and began traveling the country sketching and painting the scenery he admired. During his lifetime he sold thousands of paintings, exhibited at many galleries and won many awards for his work. He had 1000 paintings in his estate when he passed.
