Exceptional Sioux doll with fully beaded cape both sides, beaded belt, beading and fringe on dress. Fully beaded moccasins and leggings. Grandmother's hair. Long earring drops. Quilled and beaded breastplate. Brain tanned doe skin. 16"H. This piece has been in the family for three generations and was purchased directly from the Sioux at a trading post in Pine Ridge, South Dakota where the grandfather owned a store. Family written notes state that Sitting Bull was buried behind the store. The piece was later handed down to the daughter and granddaughter from whom we acquired.
