Carved fossilized walrus ivory Eskimo hunters in kayak. Detailed paddles and spear (removable) with fish on board detailed in baleen. Signed "Payenna." Payenna us from a little village Diomede in Alaska. These carvings were usually small carvings from walrus ivory, representing local animals and Eskimos themselves, going about everyday life. Seals, caribou, polar bears, birds, and other animals important to Eskimo's survival were often represented.
