Circa 1860's. At the end of the Civil War the Westward movement started in earnest. Contrary to popular belief, oxen were preferred. Teams pulled thousands of wagon trains carrying both settlers and freight. This type of whip was unsurpassed! Over 20' long, it is hand braided leather over rope and wood with original square nails. Museum piece.
