Ditidaht/Nuu-chah-nulth totem pole with frog base. Larger model totem pole by the Williams family of Ditidaht carvers featuring a wolf, fish, frog, killer whale, and frog on a frog-shaped base. This deeply carved and intricate pole was made for sale in the iconic Ye Olde Curiosity Shop (YOCS) in Seattle, Washington. This pole is unusually elaborate for a Williams model carving, particularly with the pegged fish in the wolf’s mouth and the carved and painted frog base. With its perfect painting and crisp carving, this pole is likely an early example of Ray Williams’ work. The pole has a stamp on the back that identifies it as coming from YOCS. 19"
