Ditidaht Killer Whale and Watchmen Model Pole by Wilson Williams. A very well-carved model pole by Wilson Williams, a member of the famous family of Ditidaht model totem pole makers. This particular design, which features a human riding on the back of a transverse killer whale below a group of watchmen, was a design that Wilson Williams was well-known for. The figural frog base is a nice addition that marks this as one of the better poles of this type. The darker stain and green, red, and white paints point to a 1950s or 1960s creation date. Ex.
