Colt Single Action Army “Frontier Six Shooter” revolver, serial number 75089, manufactured circa 1882 during the height of Colt’s early First Generation production. This desirable example is chambered in .44-40 Winchester Center Fire (marked “.44 C.F.”), a popular frontier caliber that offered interchangeability with Winchester rifles of the era. 7 1/2" barrel.
The revolver retains matching serial numbers on the frame, trigger guard, and backstrap, indicating an original, factory-matched configuration. The barrel is properly roll-marked “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.” and additionally stamped “COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER,” denoting the sought-after civilian variant.
Patent dates are visible on the frame consistent with standard First Generation production. This example is finished in a satin nickel finish, giving it a refined appearance that complements its historic character. The markings on the frame and barrel, with the exception of the serial number, have been reapplied. The revolver presents as a solid and well-maintained antique with a smooth, even metal surface showing an attractive, aged steel patina from careful handling and light restoration over time.
Markings remain clear and legible throughout. The action is complete, and the revolver retains its classic profile and mechanical integrity. It is fitted with decorative aftermarket grips featuring an eagle motif, adding a distinctive visual character while complementing the revolver’s historic Western appeal.
Overall, this is a representative Old West-era Colt SAA with strong visual presence, correct markings, and matching serialized components—an appealing collector piece from one of the most iconic revolver designs in American history.
