Coast Salish of Nuu-chah-nulth two-figure totem pole. An older two-figure model pole that depicts a bird with a large crest and an anthropomorphized face over a humanoid figure. This pole is carved in yellow cedar with a rich patina and is painted in old green, yellow, red, and black pigments. The circular eyes and somewhat simplified sculpture on this pole point to a likely Coast Salish origin, although it’s possible that it is Nuu-chah-nulth. 12 1/4"
