Late 19th Cheyenne used kaleidoscope with cut glass purse beads in prism. Outside with typical Cheyenne border pattern with late 19th Century colors.

In the 19th century, the bead traders and settlers carried these small kaleidoscopes. They would put their fanciest and thus costliest beads in the prism to sell to Indian women. Included is a letter dated July 15, 1938 to the owner Mr. Berg from Ehnogolist J. Frank Welton certifying the piece. 3"
