1880s cabinet card size halftone image of Col. William "Buffalo Bill" Cody. Vintage card showss chest-up pose in his famous buckskin coat and wearing his hat. Facsimilie printed autograph signature of "W.F. Cody "Buffalo Bill" printed below his image. Central crease and light soil from handling. During the Civil War, Cody served in the 7th Kansas Cavalry Regiment. Later, Cody was chief of scouts for the Third Cavalry during Indian Wars. He got his nickname for supplying Kansas Pacific Railroad workers with bison meat. He claimed to have worked many jobs, but he became famous for his Wild West show. A true classic Buffalo Bill image.
