Black with silver parade saddle, horsehead on top of saddle horn, matching breastplate. Not maker marked; probably Ted Flowers.

Edward Anderson “Ted Flowers”(1914 – 1976) was a master craftsman who revolutionized the “blingy” parade saddle industry from his “The Spot Shop” workshop in Indiana. Cowboy legends such as Gene Autry and Roy Rogers landed their private planes at Alexandria’s Knott’s Airport just to visit The Spot Shop and order custom gear.

Today, gear specifically engraved with “The Spot Shop Alexandria, IND” are highly coveted. They were among the few pieces he explicitly marked, making them rare “signed” masterpieces. His saddles remain the ultimate status symbol for collectors.
