"Backing her Up" by Walter Douglas (1868-1948) Oil on board; 8"x10". Signed and labled for the Salmagundi Club Thumb Box Expidition on back; original frame.
Walter Doulgas was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and became a pupil of William Merritt Chase. Douglas exhibited extemsively at several prestigous art insitiutes and now is held in the permanent collections of the Dallas Museum of Fine Art, New Haven Historical Society, Brooklyn Museum and Jersey City Museum.
