Augusta, Montana Liggett, Fay branding irons, circa 1941 to 1950. The branding irons show a iron construction with the letters and numbers mounted brass that reads 'L3' This brand was identified using the Montana State Library Portal using the brand index than corresponding reference number to locate the owner of the brand during this time from page 'L'. The condition of this pair of branding irons is well preserved with a bent shaft in the '3' and shows oxidation to both consistent with use and age. The measurements of this pair of branding irons are 41 3/4" x 4 3/4" x 1 3/4 and 41 1/2" x 4 3/4" x 1 3/4".
