Apache highly figurative olla with three and one-half ladies. After an olla was filled to the brim with wild grass seeds such as chia or amaranth, or domestic plant products like corn or beans, a basketry lid or cover was put on top to protect the food inside. Some experts believe the use of human or animal figures on baskets began around 1875. 6" x 8"H.
