This pole depicts the “Good Luck” or “Boy Who Fed the Eagles” totem pole motif that was usually made by Tsimshian artists from New Metlakatla, Alaska. It’s highly unusual for a Tlingit artist to depict this imagery. Although it’s unclear exactly who C. Dalton was, Dalton is a very common Tlingit surname and would be easy enough to identify with a bit of research. Excellently carved and executed in clear yellow cedar. Signed C. Dalton. Unpainted. 12 1/2"
