Thompson River/ Nlaka'pamux First Nation (Interior Salish) totem set. This unusual group of totems features three poles mounted to a base. All of the poles feature a thunderbird over a bear. It is signed “Billy Sampson, Kanakabar Litton, BC.” Kanaka Bar is a historic mining and Interior Salish community near the town of Lytton, BC. The place name spellings on this piece are good indicators of its age. Kanaka Bar is home to the Kanaka Bar Indian Band of the Nlaka'pamux people, formerly known as the Thompson River Indians. Mostly known for their beautiful baskets, model totems by Nlaka'pamux and other Interior Salish people and are very rare. Entire grouping 13" x 12"H
