Wild Horse gets its name from its reddish-brown to chocolate-brown matrix with creamy, ivory, or tan magnesite veins, resembling the coat patterns of pinto horses that roam the American Southwest. The stones are a distinctive variety of magnesite found in Arizona and the surrounding areas.
