Flying duck decoy from Connecticut. Carved and painted wood with remnants of original paint - a mallard drake, a hole for mounting on a rod above the water, which once had a roll bearing so could turn and bear with the wind. Lead weighted so body would be stable when wings were turning. A prototype of the now robo duck. 19th Century. Mounted on more modern stand. As found condition. 18"L x 12"W x 16"H wings on side including modern base, base 6" x 8".
