Casas Grandes Nude Male Olla

Casas Grandes, Ramos polychrome type, ca. 1100 to 1450 CE. A fascinating pottery jar in the form of a nude male figure seated with hands on knees flanking a protruding phallus as his owl-like visage projects forward. Slender arms depicted in relief exten dfrom the broad rim of the vessel, which is placed just behind the stylized, avianesque head comprised of arched brows, a widow's peak, wide eyees with elongated outer corners, a straight nose, and a petite. 4 1/2"D x 6"H
