Sioux beaded woman's dress of the Elk Society. Made of brain tanned deer skin with fringed chest and arms. Dress exhibits fringed panels across the front sleeves and bottom hem. Two sided beaded design including morning stars, elk raising a leg into a circle with a dance hoop attached to their hooves, possibly family emblem enclosed within two geometric slid beaded panels. Colors include red, green, orange, dark blue, powder blue, white, yellow and faceted indigo and green. Fine seed bead decoration. Fine condition, minor bead loss and repair to fringe of one cuff, and several smaller patches .
