Early Plains pipe tomahawk with rifled pipe bowl, pewter inlaid rasp, burnt finish surface with finely braided quill work, and lightly file burnt handle. The head is mid-19th century in a phase III style. Haft has the proper shrinkage for age and has been shanked to keep tight. Later, but not modern, pendant ribbon drop. 20 1/2" x 8"
