Hupa/Yurok basketry hat. Two strand plain twining with three strand twining at base. Warps: hazel shoots, Corylus rostrata californica. Decoration by half-twist overlay of bear grass, Xerophyllum tenax; (light); msidenhair fern, Adiantum pedatum, (dark). Ex. Clay P Bedford.
