Tsimshian Cedar Basket

Tsimshian red cedar basket with clover design and Crimped edge. This interesting Tsimshian basket, which dates to the first half of the 20th century, appears to be referencing a Murano or crimped-edge glass vase. The basket is woven in red cedar with false imbrication in dyed spruce root. The designs are rendered in natural and red-dyed spruce roots, with an interesting geometric border at the top and bottom of the basket and red clovers around the center. 6"H x 4"W
