Dimensions

Nuu-chah-Nulth covered basketry cane. Circa 1920-30. An exceptional Nuu-chah-nulth basketry covered cane that’s woven in natural and dyed bear grass. The cane is standard sized (32 inches) and is covered in alternating bands and sawtooth patterns in black, blue, red, and green colors. The cane features two balls at the top of the handle which are also covered in the unbroken weaving. While there is some age-appropriate fading in the beargrass, the cane is in good condition overall and is a rare and large example of Nuu-chah-nulth fibre art. The cane terminates in a ferrule, so it is a functional and sturdy cane. 32".
