Dimensions

Medium size, round bodied jar with no neck and a direct uneven rim; lip is not thickened. Construction by coil and scrape. Temper is a fine multilithic sand with significant copper colored mica flakes showing on all surfaces. Some minor cratering from mica flakes near and parallel to the surface, no pores. Exterior and interior fired to a yellowish red color with some fire clouds. The surface appears to have been somewhat floated with a very light polish or rubbing after decoration. Decoration is a red mineral paint applied to the vessel exterior body and rim. The body design consists of five continuous repeated triangles extending up from a framing line located below the vessel mid point; inside each triangle is a smaller triangle also originating from the framing line; lines are 5-7mm wide. The rim design consists of 14 pendant, solid right triangles that tilt slightly to the rigth in a "shark tooth" style. One rim chip filled, paint worn off all over. This item is guaranteed to be of the time period and condition as described, has been exported legally and is legal to buy and sell under all international laws relating to cultural patrimony.
