The Shootist. Oil on canvas; 12” x 16” frame 16” x 20”. This painting hung in the farmhouse living room when John Wayne’s movie “The Shootist” was filmed in the house across from the governor’s mansion in Carson City, Nevada. It is shown in the film. Printed on back “In the Thames Valley 1886, O.E. Oliver” and at the bottom “M.K. Twicca 4th May.” This may be the owner. Written on tape “T.J. Frazier? 1924.” We did not find any of the names being significant, only the fact that it was in a John Wayne movie.
