Tlingit three figure totem pole. A Tlingit model pole that is a version of the Chief Kyan Totem Pole of Ketchikan, Alaska, featuring a Crane, Thunderbird, and Bear. The pole was carved by a member of the Marks Family of Tlingit carvers from Hoohah and Douglas Island, Alaska, and dates to the 1940s. A nice feature of this pole is the knife-textured chest of the top bird figure that replicates adze textures on full-sized poles. The spread wings on this pole are not original to the pole and need to be removed. The wings are from a Williams family pole and would have been added by someone later – the original wings of the pole are depicted as being folded at the top birds’ side. 16"H x 12"wings

PERIOD: Early 20th Century

ORIGIN: Northwest - Tlingit, Native American

SIZE: 16"H x 12" wings
