Pacheedaht/Nuu-chah-nulth multifigure model totem pole. A densely complex and intricate multi-figure pole that is likely by Pacheedaht artist Sam Jackson (see item number A0722 on this site and object number A8766 in the Museum of Anthropology at UBC). What’s notable about this artist and their work is the number of finely carved figures that they were able to pack into their poles. This pole features eleven figures: raven, human, two black bears, frog, bear, human, black bear, frog, owl, and another bear on an alder base. Few poles from this time period show this level of intricate workmanship. 18"H x 2 1/2" round base.
