Apsaalooke effigy mirror board. Painted red and yellow figure with red bands across mouth. Central mirror surrounded with rows of tacks. Ermine tails, horsehair, and ribbons hang from all four limbs. The haft wrapped with otter fur. A similar example published Plains Indian Sculptures by John Ewers, 1986, page 198, figure 194. A nearly identical example was photographed by O. S. Goff circa 1886 showing a dancer hold this style board, National Archives, 111-SC-83716. 33 1/4"
