(1912-1978). Oil on canvas; 8" x 10". Framed. Son of a cowboy, Powell was raised in Apegar, MT, on the south side of Lake McDonald. His father was a stable boss, guide and tracker for Glacier National Park. As a boy, he watched Charles Russell paint in the Bull's Head Lodge in Apegar. Purchased directly from Ace Powell by our consignor's mother. Comes along with a typed letter on Ace Powell stationery by Ace Powell relaying the story of Old Bear.
