Sioux Man Doll. Old collector tag - Indian doll. "Found at Rabbit Creek Indian Camp after Battle of Slim Buttes, now Hardin County, South Dakota. Dr. King to Payne Collection to Mr. Whitner collection to Dr. Freese collection to Anne Bauer collection." The Battle of Slim Buttes was in 1876, shortly after the Custer Massacre. This doll had been fully played with much before that. Grandmother's hair; fully beaded ceremonial moccasins.
